The Janus School: One of a Kind
The Janus School is an independent day school located on a 40-acre campus in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, teaching students primarily from kindergarten through twelfth grades. To best serve our students, we have designed a system to fit their learning styles.
Our Passion is Changing Lives
Our goal is to help students with learning differences unlock their potential. Each time a new student walks through The Janus School's doors, we attend to his or her distinct learning style. Your child can make a fresh start at a school where, at last, teachers fully understand and attend to their needs with a personalized, individual program.
Designed to Fit Your Child
Using just one method of teaching cannot possibly match everyone’s style of learning. That is why we have created an individual program designed for the specific needs of your child. One-to-one diagnostic tutoring is at the heart of a Janus education. Our tutors work closely with your child, creating a special bond of trust. Your child’s teachers work as a team to share insights, success stories, and develop strategies for each student.
Educating the Whole Child
Academic success is essential at Janus. We measure each student’s progress in reading, writing, math, science and social studies according to nationally accepted standards. In addition, we foster skills needed at home, with friends, or at an after-school job. Because it’s not just about what you know, but who you are.
Personal Attention is Key
Our class size is small (6 students on average), and with our remarkably low student-to-teacher ratio (about 6:1), your child can be placed according to skill level in each subject. What does all this personal attention achieve? It changes students from those who dread school to those who are eager to learn.
Goal 1: Basic skill levels commensurate with potential,

Goal 2: Study skills
Goal 3: Social cognition/adaptive behavior skills
Come see what we’re all about.
We invite you to see firsthand how our experienced teachers, individualized instruction, and a nurturing environment can make all the difference in a child’s life. The Janus School accepts students for grades K-12. Janus admits students of any race, color, and national and ethnic origin. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin, disabilities or sexual orientation in the administration of our educational policies, admission policies, and school administered programs.
