Experience Dyslexia®, A Simulation
November 14, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm| $15
Experience Dyslexia®, A Simulation is a lively and thought-provoking program designed to increase awareness of the challenges and frustrations encountered daily by individuals with dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities. Experience Dyslexia®, has received very positive feedback from educators, parents, therapists, and community members.
The Pennsylvania Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (PBIDA) will present Experience Dyslexia® at The Janus School on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m.
The evening will begin with a brief discussion of dyslexia, including the neurological basis, the demographics, the warning signs, and the interventions which have been shown, through solid research, to have positive impact. Participants then take part in six simulated activities which mimic the experiences and processing of those with dyslexia. Finally, participants ask questions of an experienced panel which often includes psychologists, educators, reading specialists, multisensory tutors, and individuals with dyslexia.
Cost is $15 per person with a special rate of $5 for college students.
