My Brain Doesn’t Work Like That!
Everyone has individual preferences and needs when it comes to learning. Some of us prefer quiet environments, while others need music or background noise in order to concentrate. Some learners need a nice, neat desk while others sprawl out on the floor. It’s not the differences that are a problem; however, it’s our tendency to be most comfortable with our own styles and assume that everyone learns best the same way we do! This is why it can be so hard to understand students who actually learn and perform better when their individual preferences look very different from our own.
This program, presented by Dr. Jane Bluestein at The Janus School, will explore a number of ways individuals learn. In addition to presenting dozens of practical strategies for accommodating a variety of learner preferences, we will also look at ways to teach children how to take responsibility for their own learning needs. Great ideas for teachers and parents, especially those working with non-traditional learners, will be presented and discussed.
This special event is free and open to the public and promises to offer something unique to all interested parents, educators, and other professionals. Click the link to the right to register today! For more information call 717.653.0025 or email email@example.com.
