Move to Connect: Using Pickleball to Engage the Autistic Brain

Webinar Cancelled

Unfortunately, due to low registration numbers, we’ve decided to cancel the October 28th webinar session. We’re disappointed we won’t be hosting this presentation at this time, but please remember to check our website and social media accounts for information about any rescheduled events or related opportunities.

Join Dr. Daniel Lidstone, Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at Penn State Harrisburg, for an evening exploring the connection between movement and autism. Dr. Lidstone will share findings from his research on visual-motor integration in autism – how the brain links what it sees with how it moves – and discuss how this work is shaping new ways to understand and support autistic individuals. He will also introduce pickleball as a potential intervention that blends coordination, sensory feedback, and social interaction in an enjoyable, inclusive environment.

Topics include:
  • How visual-motor integration relates to movement and perception in autism
  • What research reveals about sensory-motor differences in autistic individuals
  • Pickleball as a potential movement-based intervention for improving coordination and engagement
